Back to normality

I've just woken up from a mid afternoon nap to the smell of rain floating through my room and a rather damp scene outside. I love that intriguing smell though theres just something about it especially after it hasn't rained in a while. So cup of tea by my side and fresh air floating through the window I can finally sit down and catch up on some blogging :)

My little extra sleep was well needed due to a surprisingly busy week. It started with FINALLY handing in the my dissertation and taking a much needed trip down to my mum's farm.

It was just so nice to be able to stop for a little while and just potter around and about with the animals and soak up some sunshine taking walks along the coast etc. Well I say stop, what that actually meant was stop working and thinking about all things dissertation and focus on other things like helping out with farm jobs and discuss major life things in great detail with my mum like what am I going to do after uni ... thats a BIG question and slightly stress inducing question right there!!

Then after getting back from there on Tuesday night I then had to set my alarm to get up at 4:15 the following morning to catch a coach to London for the day with some of my course mates. To be honest I didn't really feel like going but I'm so glad I did as it was a really nice day! We visited various exhibitions and beyond posh galleries that I wouldn't even think about entering... you know the kind you have to buzz into and that are hidden away in super rich areas of London on upper floors and massive town houses!

It did feel weird (in a nice way..) being back in London though... I used to live pretty close and could just hop on a train and within half an hour be arriving into London Paddington. It's funny how much life changes in so little time! Although I did forget how intimidating the city can be with huge masses of people pushing and shoving everywhere and how fast paced everything is... but then given that I'm used to the open countryside I'm not surprised I find it more than a little nerve wracking. Anyway we all got back off the coach in Newport at nearly 2am and I finally got into bed about 2:30 (LONG DAY!) and we were straight back into lectures Thursday and as much as the visiting lecture by photographer Sophy Rickett was fascinating I don't think I was the only one trying their best to stay awake!

Then yesterday we had a meeting with the designer for our end of year publication and website with the university it's all very exciting stuff :D! It did however point out how much work we all have to do and in a very little amount of time so with no plans this weekend thankfully I have time to try and sort through the work I've done and make some plans as to where to take it next.... much easier said than done... never mind better crack on with it :)
