It's called "15 things you only know if you have epilepsy" and has been shared and read so many times already which I am unbelievably happy about. The more people reading it the more people who may learn a little something about Epilepsy that they may not have known before.
It is my opinions which I have to make clear not everyone will agree with!! We're all different after all and will experience things differently from others. My aim though was to give a lighthearted approach to raising some awareness of what it can be like living with Epilepsy and seizures.

There were a lot of facts I didn't know when I first got diagnosed, I'm so glad you decided to share it with the world.
What a wonderful article. Congratulations fur getting it published. I suffer from temporal lobe epilepsy and it happened out of the blue when I was 32 years old. I am 39 years old now and have been in control of my seizures for 4 years now. I started a blog as well to connect with others that suffer with epilepsy as well. My baby girl was 4 years old when she had 7 episodes of epileptic seizures for straight 8 months. Six episodes were with fever and 1 seizure without fever. We used Valparin twice a day but my baby seizures got worse and she developed other health complications. My child was going through pain and I was afraid of leaving her alone to herself so I constantly watched her.
To help my child overcome these frequent traumas, I went in search of medication outside the English medications we had used without result. ReplyDeleteIt started as a minor seizure. I was scared when I had my first seizure. First it was at the tonic phase till it became more complicated that I woke up in ER. That was when I was 9 years old. I had questions without answers. My friends who never understood what I was going through abandoned me because they were shy, and too embarrassed to associate with me. The seizures became frequent that I had more than 50 seizures a day. For 31 years I took thousands of Western Medication. It got more complicated that I had to make effort so it will not become epilepsy according to research. I went in search for a cure because I was feed up of treatments and drugs. A lot of folks told me there was no cure to seizure; that the best I could get was treatment to manage it, but I just refused to believe them. My son was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of six and had become quite recluse, I was terrified. “His seizures have never been fully controlled as he had grand mal seizures, collapsing and twitching on the ground. As a little kid, I find each one haunting—as if some outside force has taken over his body, leaving me, the person who is supposed to protect him, powerless. It was 2012 and over the previous three years I had spent more time in hospital than out of hospital. This point in time was, looking back, perhaps the low point of my life. I have been in tears for so many years now, having found that my only son is suffering from seizure, lesion after some years of being under extreme stress., . I recently have some difficult conversations and I did what a lot of people do when they want to know how to do something. I googled it. ReplyDeleteI myself have epilepsy. Not to this extreme with grand mail seizures daily, but it still affects me in other ways daily.
